Upload guidelines

Light Zone is a free library of 3D models made for Light. Every upload is reviewed by the Light team before it goes public. These guidelines explain what gets approved.

What you can upload

  • One model per upload, as a single .glb file up to 10 MB.
  • Models you made yourself, or that you have the right to share for free (for example, a CC0 or CC-BY model, with credit in the description).
  • Up to 4 preview images (JPG, PNG or WebP). If you skip them, we capture a cover from your model.
  • Up to 10 uploads per day.

What gets rejected or removed

  • Work you don't have the rights to, including ripped game or film assets and other people's models.
  • Characters, logos or brands you don't own, unless the owner allows fan work to be shared freely.
  • Sexual content, graphic violence, hate symbols, or anything targeting a real person.
  • Broken, empty or placeholder files, and near-duplicates of a model that's already up.
  • Misleading titles, descriptions or images.

Make it look great on Light

  • Center it. Put the model at the origin, standing upright, so it sits in the middle of the display.
  • Bright colors read best. Light is viewed in the dark, so saturated and light materials glow; very dark materials disappear.
  • Keep it lean. Bake textures where you can and keep file size well under 10 MB so it loads fast.
  • Clear silhouettes. Bold shapes and outlines read better from across a room than fine detail.
  • Describe it. Say what it is, any credits, and tips like the brightness that suits it. Good tags help people find it.

After you upload

Your model shows “In review” on your profile until it's approved. You can edit the title, description, category and tags any time. Swapping the file or images sends it back to review. You can delete your models whenever you like.
